Профсоюз усилил работу по общественному контролю за соблюдением трудового законодательства, охраны труда и здоровья на предприятиях. Отраслевое соглашение, перезаключенное между Министерством транспорта Украины и ПРМТУ, неоднократно дополнялось, что стало толчком для роста количества рабочих мест в отрасли, средняя заработная плата также увеличивалась. Профсоюзные комитеты закрепляли нормы Отраслевого соглашения в коллективных договорах со своими предприятиями, что обеспечивало реальную защиту прав и интересов работников отрасли.
