Август богат праздниками, посвященными сбору урожая. Трижды чествуются самые значимые дары русской природы: яблоки, мед и орехи.
Медовый Спас отмечается 14 августа по новому стилю. Наши предки считали, что после этого дня пчелы начинают приносить «неправильный» мед, а потому спешили собрать последние подарки маленьких тружениц. Этот мед считался особенно целебным, а употребляли его в пищу исключительно после освящения в церкви.
Яблочный Спас, его отмечают 19 августа по новому стилю. По православному канону Спас совпадает с праздником Преображения Господня, а по народному календарю – с проводами лета. По традиции до этого дня не едят яблоки и блюда из них. На праздник готовят постные блюда – яблочные пироги, компоты, варенья, шарлотки, а также яблоки, запеченные с медом и пряностями, груши в сиропе и т.п. В Яблочный Спас принято угощать яблоками всех, даже незнакомых людей.
Ореховый Спас отмечают 29 августа по новому стилю. К этому дню вызревают орехи, их начинают активно собирать и употреблять в пищу. Первый ореховый сбор тоже освящают в церкви.
4 ноября в России отмечается День народного единства. Впервые в России этот новый всенародный праздник отмечался 4 ноября 2005 года. В День народного единства в разных городах нашей страны политические партии и общественные движения организуют митинги, шествия и концерты, благотворительные акции и спортивные мероприятия.
12-го декабря — День Конституции. В этот день в 1993 г. была принята первая Конституция Российской Федерации.
