Сериал рассказывает о приключениях братьев Сэма Дина Винчестеров. Когда Сэм и Дин были совсем малышами, их мама Мэри трагически погибла при совершенно необъяснимых обстоятельствах. Отец братьев Джон с трудом пережил потерю любимой жены и поклялся себе расследовать ее гибель. С тех пор он посвятил себя борьбе с нечистью и поискам объяснений гибели супруги. Каждая серия сериала — отдельный сюжет про очередное запутанное дело, где виновником всех несчастий становится нечто паранормальное. Со временем у братьев появляется масса технических средств и открываются паранормальные способности.
