4 марта 2005 года прошло 190 лет со дня рождения Михаила Вербицкого. Патриотичная песня на его музыку "Еще не умерла Украина" сделала бессмертным имя композитора. Но так же он известен как основатель Перемышльской музыкальной школы. Этого его Иван Франко называл самым выдающимся талантом среди галицких композиторов. Это о нем один из современников писал "Музыка Вербицкого оживленная, простая и так отпечатывается в памяти, что на второй день после представления ее везде пели"
Сегодня мы так же живем его музыкой, вот и недавно в селе Малины, которое теперь находится в составе Польши, могилу отца Михаила Вербицкого посетил Президент Виктор Ющенко со свитой так же присутствовала польская власть, были люди и более низкого социального статуса, но все хотели месить болото на поле, за которым место вечного упокоения Композитора. "Еще не умерла Украины..." с нотами впервые напечатана в 1885 году. Впервые песню признали как гимн 1917. Официально утвердили после оглашения независимости Украины 15 января 1992 года.
