Biography of Mikhail Vasilyevich
Lomonosov, Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov (1711 - 1765) - famous worldwide for the great Russian scientist, chemist, physicist, artist, historian, poet and writer. He studied astronomy, geology, geography, etc.
The early years of
Mikhail Lomonosov was born on 8 (19) in November 1711 in the village of Denisovka (Arkhangelsk Province), into a wealthy family. Even as a child Lomonosov managed to learn to read and write and to read. At the age of 14 years old Michael already knew how to write correctly. At age 19, he decided to flee to Moscow, where he learned that his father wants to marry him.
Study and work activity
Lomonosov sought to learn and for this he walked to Moscow (1731). There he entered the Slavonic-Greek-Latin Academy. Then his life was very difficult and poor, but through perseverance he managed for 5 years to pass all the 12-year course of study.
Among the best students in 1736 went to study in Germany, where he studied engineering and natural sciences, as well as foreign languages and literature . So he began to collect my library.
In 1741, Mikhail returned to his homeland.
In 1742 Lomonosov was appointed assistant professor of physics at the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, and 3 years later he became a professor of chemistry.
Death and legacy

Death overtook Mikhail Lomonosov at the age of 54 years. The great scientist died from pneumonia 4 (15) in April 1765, and was buried in the Lazarev cemetery in St. Petersburg.
