Legend Taktshang construction of the monastery dates back to the eighth century and is associated with a real historical figure of Guru Rinpoche (Guru Rinpoche), or Padmasambhava (Padmasambhava). He is still revered as the second Buddha because of his great contribution to the spread of Buddhism throughout the territory from Tibet to Bhutan. Padmasambhava arrived in these places on the back of a tiger in the eighth century. Village Takstange Paro and its atmosphere is so pleased him that he called her second Kailash. In Buddhist philosophy means Kailash - holy region. But the local evil spirits did not like the appearance of Padmasambhava, and they collected all of their dark forces to attack him. To give evil spirits resist and subdue them, Padmasambhava took one of his eight forms - horrible Guru Dorje Drollo.
