Это автобиографичная книга альпиниста и путешественника с горящими глазами и сильным желанием выполнить миссию экспедиции, преодолев все преграды на пути к заветной вершине.

В книге рассказывается история знакомства Генриха с маленьким Далай-ламой. Я сразу прониклась любовью к тибетцам, здесь описывается их культура, традиции и все те напутствия Далай-ламы, которым он учит и по сей день, но которые увы, непонятны многим воинствующим странам/людям.

Одноименный фильм также очень хорош – Гималаи, Тибетская Лхаса еще больше погружают в атмосферу тех времен, приобщают к простой жизни жителей Тибета.
