По результатам конкурса формируется одноименный рейтинг, учитывающий такие показатели как: размер компании, динамику развития и технологический уровень выпускаемой продукции или оказываемых услуг. Рейтинг «ТехУспех» определяет лидеров среди быстрорастущих высокотехнологичных компаний России, которые способны в перспективе сыграть ключевую роль в развитии и модернизации российских технологических отраслей. Организаторами рейтинга выступают Российская венчурная компания (РВК) в партнёрстве с Ассоциацией инновационных регионов России (АИРР), PwC и МСП Банком.
При создании методологии для составления рейтинга были изучены наиболее авторитетные международные решения, такие как: The World's Most Innovative Companies (Forbes), TOP 100 Global Innovators 2012 (Thompson Reuters), The Global Innovation 1000 study of R&D spending (Booz&Co).
