Правила пожарной безопасности определяют организационные мероприятия по обеспечению пожарной безопасности (ПБ), порядок действий при пожаре, требования ПБ (при эксплуатации) по отношению к территориям, зданиям, сооружениям, помещениям, электроустановкам, системам отопления и вентиляции, др. видам инженерного оборудования, сетям противопожарного водоснабжения, автоматическим установкам пожаротушения и установкам пожарной сигнализации, системам противодымной защиты, системам оповещения о пожаре и управления эвакуацией, пожарной технике, первичным средствам пожаротушения.
Основные правила зависящая от человека(например, не работать в мокрой одежде, не курить в офисе, не оставлять открытыми окна и т.д.) могут предотвратить пожар на рабочем месте.
Также, человек должен быть ознакомлен с планом эксплуатации при пожаре на рабочем месте, знать расположение огнетушителей и запасных выходов.
В свою очередь, рабочее место человека должно быть оборудовано местами для курения, порядками осмотра и закрытия помещений после окончания работы, порядками и сроками прохождения противопожарного инструктажа и занятий, порядками уборки горючих отходов и пыли, хранения промасленной спецодежды, порядками пользования открытым огнем и мерами безопасности.
Порядок действий при пожаре
При обнаружении пожара или признаков горения (задымление, запах гари, повышение температуры и т.д.) необходимо:
-немедленно сообщить об этом по телефону в государственную противопожарную службу (назвать адрес объекта, место возникновения пожара, а также сообщить свою фамилию);
-принять по возможности меры по эвакуации людей, тушению пожара и сохранности материальных ценностей.

При пожаре должны быть осуществлены следующие действия, в том числе:
1) последовательность вызова подразделений противопожарной службы;
2) порядок аварийной остановки технологического оборудования;
3) порядок отключения вентиляции и электрооборудования;
4) правила применения средств пожаротушения и установок пожарной автоматики;
5) порядок эвакуации людей, горючих веществ и материальных ценностей;
