Инфляция нанесла тяжелый удар по интересам крестьян. В то же время она использовалась в интересах крупного капитала, монополий. В конце войны инфляция резко возросла. Япония стремилась освободиться от обесценивающихся денег путем покупки реальных ценностей (золота, земли, строений, товаров и т. п.), но и развитием меновой торговли.
