Transportation Engineering - application of technology and scientific principles to the planning, functional design, operation and management of facilities for any type of transport in order to ensure safe, efficient, fast, comfortable, convenient, economical and environmentally sound movement of people and goods. This subdiscipline of civil engineering and industrial engineering. Transport Engineering is an important component of building engineering.
