Никто из государств, вовлеченных в корейский кризис, не пытается игнорировать Россию, но и не видит ее в качестве посредника. Тем не менее Россия может внести существенный вклад в мирное разрешение корейской проблемы, что вполне соответствовало бы нашим национальным интересам. Влияние России могло бы проявиться в следующем: – в оказании воздействия на все стороны, вовлеченные в корейские дела, в пользу проявления сдержанности и использования мирных методов; – в стимулировании Северной Кореи к возврату в режим нераспространения ядерного оружия и проведению рыночных реформ; – во всемерной поддержке многосторонних переговоров (оптимально шестисторонних) с целью рассмотрения на них не только вопросов безопасности, но и сотрудничества в самых раз- личных сферах. Осуществить на практике это будет очень сложно, так как из-за противоречий между всеми вовлеченными в кризис сторонами России часто придется делать выбор. Однако эту проблему можно решить за счет искусства дипломатии.

Put into practice it will be very difficult, because of the contradictions between all parties involved in the crisis in Russia often have to make a choice. However, this problem can be solved at the expense of the art of diplomacy.
