The contribution of the evolutionary period to the fractionation of the I0, I1 and I2 indices between phylogenetic periods depends on the duration of the period (Figure 5, a). The duration of the periods between successive bird-formation events represented in the community is 1.96-67.3 million. Years. By definition, the number of lines decreases from leaves to the root of a phylogenetic tree. Accordingly, the ecological contribution of the period decreases from leaves to roots. This pattern is most prevalent for the I0 index (Figure 5, d), and to a slightly lesser extent for the I1 and I2 indices (Figure 5, b, c). The most basal species are characterized by the least contribution to the difference of phylogenetic diversity between years.
