The photodegradation initiated by semiconductor nanoparticles in an acrylic photocurable polymer doped with p-ZnO nanoparticles has been investigated. A mechanism and formula of the photoinduced chemical reaction stimulated by primary photochemical processes of water photolysis on the surface of semiconductor ZnO nanoparticles are proposed. The mass loss in this reaction reaches 12%, which confirms the validity of photodegradation for polymer waste disposal. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
Characterization of the infrared spectra of serum from patients with multiple myeloma
Multiple myeloma (MM) accounts for about 1% of all types of cancers. MM is characterized by the proliferation of a single clone of plasma cells, which may produce and secrete a homogeneous monoclonal immunoglobulin. The monoclonal immunoglobulin is commonly referred to as an M protein. The M protein acts as a serological "tumor" marker that is useful for diagnosis and disease monitoring. The electrophoretic pattern reveals the M-protein in 80% of MM patients as a single peak or localized band. In our study we applied a combination of high-resolution agarose gel protein electrophoresis (PEL), spectroscopic techniques and thermal analysis to identify the key differences in protein composition, protein structure and their thermal behavior for the samples obtained from the serum of MM patients and healthy donors. © 2016 Author(s).

The main objective of the current research was investigating the possibility of using a poly(acrylic acid)-co-acrylamide/bentonite composites for removal of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions with different concentration of salt. A mineral-containing hydrogel composite were prepared by radical polymerization in the water at temperature 30 - 45 °C. The polymeric matrix was received on the base of sodium salt of acrylic acid and the acrylamide taken in various ratios. Ammonium persulphate – tetramethylethylenediamine was used as initiator oxidation-reduction system, and N,N’-methylene-bis-acrylamide as the cross-linked agent. The sorption processes of cobalt ions from aqueous solutions were studied. It has been shown to influence the proportion of bentonite sorption kinetics of cobalt ions from aqueous solutions of

A novel mineral-containing composition on the based superabsorbent polymer hydrogel network was synthesized through chemical crosslinking by radical copolymerization of acrylamide (AA) and acrylic acid (AAc), N,N''-methylene-bis - Acrylamide (MBA) as crosslinker and OXRED system: ammonium persulfate - N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMED) as initiator. The montmorillonite modified by silver particles was used as filler. Influence of filler dispersion, silver concentration, synthesis conditions of a polymeric matrix on sorption characteristics of wound coverings was studied. The water absorption capacity of the hydrogel was in the range of 150 - 200g/g after immersion in distilled water for 48 h. The enhanced thermal stability of the hydrogel composition was confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The structures of the copolymers were confirmed by FTIR. Furthermore, antimicrobial and prolonged actions of acrylic polymer nanocomposites with silver ions were studied. The results showed that the hydrogel mineral-containing composite could be considered as a potential wound-dressing material. © 2014 IEEE.
