В 150-летнюю нефтяную историю России ЛУКОЙЛ вписал свою большую главу — в ноябре 2016 года ей исполнится четверть века. Компания первой в России внедрила высочайшие экологические стандарты— «нулевой сброс» — при работе на шельфе Каспия и Балтики, установила мировой рекорд в протяженности горизонтального бурения, создала уникальную инфраструктуру для круглогодичной транспортировки нефти из Российской Арктики, в том числе самый северный в мире терминал в Варандее, первой в стране вывела производство топлива и смазочных материалов на уровень лучших европейских стандартов.
