Международный аэропорт «Шереметьево» находится на территории города Химки.Строительство аэродрома было предназначено для Военно-воздушных сил СССР и назывался первоначально «Шереметьевский».В 1957 году были введены взлетно-посадочная полоса, рулежные дорожки и три перрона и в 1959 году аэродром был передан в гражданскую авиацию. 12 марта 2013 года аэровокзал получил премию как «Лучший аэропорт Европы по качеству обслуживания пассажиров».Сегодня карта полетов аэропорта «Шереметьево» включает в себя 200 направлений. За год пассажиропоток достигает 35 миллионов пассажиров.
