Туризм ― это еще одно стихийное бедствие для города, помимо приливов. Еще в 1988 году было определено, что максимально возможное количество туристов в Венеции в 33 тыс. человек в день. Превышение этого количества людей, по оценке экспертов, влечет за собой неминуемое разрушение города. Цифры говорят сами за себя: в одни только уик-энды и праздники нередко приезжает около 80 тыс. гостей [2].
