116. Третий механик подчиняется второму механику и в необходимых случаях замещает его.
Он отвечает:
за техническое состояние и надежную работу котельной установки с обслуживающими ее техническими средствами, включая опреснительные установки и устройства звуковой сигнализации, системы котельной воды, тушения пожара, парового отопления, обогрева балластных и топливных танков;
за техническое состояние и надежную работу вспомогательных механизмов, рулевых машин, активных рулей и подруливающих устройств, воздушных компрессоров и баллонов, работающих под давлением, с обслуживающими их техническими средствами;
за техническое состояние и готовность к использованию двигателей судовых спасательных средств;
за поддержание в исправном состоянии топливных хранилищ, систем и средств перекачки топлива, средств автоматизации (кроме элементов электрических схем) и контрольно-измерительных приборов.
117. Третий механик обязан:
обеспечивать техническую эксплуатацию вверенных ему механизмов, систем и устройств судна, организовывать их обслуживание в соответствии с требованиями правил технической эксплуатации и инструкциями завода-изготовителя;
руководить работами по обслуживанию и профилактическому ремонту вспомогательных двигателей и других технических средств, находящихся в заведовании;
руководить работами по обслуживанию и профилактическому ремонту котельных установок, баллонов, работающих под давлением, с обслуживающими их устройствами и арматурой;
составлять ремонтные ведомости на работы, выполняемые силами судоремонтных предприятий, контролировать качество выполнения этих работ и руководить ремонтными работами, проводимыми выделенными в помощь судовыми специалистами;
следить за наличием, расходованием, учетом и хранением топлива, докладывать второму механику о необходимости его пополнения, организовывать прием и перекачку топлива;
следить за наличием, учетом и хранением запасных частей, приборов и инструментов к вспомогательным механизмам (котлам) судна, а также составлять заявки на их пополнение;
обеспечивать надежную работу и поддержание в исправном техническом состоянии топливных систем и хранилищ с обслуживающими их средствами перекачки топлива, автоматизации (кроме элементов электрических схем) и контрольно-измерительными приборами;
контролировать качество котельной воды и соблюдение режима ее обработки.
118. Третий механик несет ходовые машинные вахты, на автоматизированных судах (без постоянной вахты) - вахты по графику, а также стояночные вахты по решению старшего механика.
