О возведении храма существует целая легенда. Так у одного из правителей был сын Преа Кет Меалеа. Богу Индра понравился этого юноша, и он пригласил его к себе на небо. Преа Кет Меала полюбил это место, но особенно ему понравился великолепный дворец с пятью башнями.
