Visual play – новый проект, объединяющий в себя несколько старых известных направлений, таких как
- Косплей (яп. コスプレ, от англ. Costume play – «костюмированная игра», где прототипами костюмированной игры являются персонажи мультфильмов, видеоигр, фильмов, сериалов, легенд и мифов, а также реальные знаменитости),
- Фанфики или Додзин (любительское сочинение по мотивам мультфильмов, видеоигр, фильмов, сериалов, комиксов, аниме. Fan fiction – фан-литература; либо как сиквел после уже известной истории с теми же персонажами, либо как оригинальная книга, навеянная известным произведением),
- Visual kei – «визуальный стиль». (Жанр японской музыки, где музыканты не только исполняют свои песни, но и показывают смысл и настроение музыки через яркие образы, сложный макияж, прически и костюмы. Для молодежи, не являющейся музыкантами - visual kei скорее разновидность субкультуры, только Визуалы наиболее позитивны и доброжелательны).
