Сейчас в Маунтин-Вью проходят испытания 23 автомобиля марки Lexus RX450h, оснащенных системами автоматического управления, и 2 из 25 прототипов.
Самоуправляемые автомобили, несомненно, являются большим благом, и в будущем, при соответствующей реализации, способны стать достойными помощниками человека. По мнению же экспертов аналитической компании McKinsey, пассажирские самоуправляемые автомобили достигнут критической массы только после 2040 г.
