Рациональное природо-пользование в современных условиях – это такая система хозяйственной деятельности общества, при которой достигается неисчерпаемость его энергетической и сырьевой базы в сочетании с сохранением параметров среды обитания, необходимых человеку как биологическому виду и разумному социальному существу. Рациональное природопользование имеет двоякую цель – необходимо добиться сохранности природы во всем ее разнообразии и обеспечить ост благосостояния населения.
Рациональное природопользование предусматривает переход промышленности и сельского хозяйства к ресурсосберегающим технологиям: 1) возможно более полное использование извлекаемых природных ресурсов; 2) повторное использование отходов производства и потребления; 3) овладение чистыми источниками энергии; 4) строгое ограничение выбросов в пределах норм, установка очистительных фильтров и сооружений.
Необходимо помнить, что природные ресурсы входят в состав экосистем, где все экологические компоненты взаимосвязаны. Поэтому использование уже одного из природных ресурсов оказывает воздействие на другой ресурс. Например, при орошении полей уменьшаются водные ресурсы того или иного водного бассейна, что неизбежно окажет влияние на рыбное хозяйство, судоходство, гидроэнергетику и т.д. Полив также вызывает изменение уровня подземных вод, изменение видового состава почвенных микроорганизмов. Поэтому при эксплуатации любого из природных ресурсов следует учитывать воздействие такой эксплуатации на экосистемы в целом и отдельные природные ресурсы, в частности.
