Государственная Третьяковская галер

Государственная Третьяковская галерея — один из замеча­тельных русских музеев, самая крупная сокровищница изобра­зительного искусства. В ее собрании насчитывается около 60 тысяч произведений живописи, графики и скульптуры от XI века до наших дней.

Своим существованием галерея обязана Павлу Михайлови­чу Третьякову. Он был не просто собирателем, он пристально следил за развитием русского искусства, радовался его успехам, заботился о том, чтобы лучшие произведения, отмеченные та­лантом, попадали в его собрание. Да и сами художники счита­ли за высокую честь, чтобы их работы попадали именно к Тре­тьякову. Передовые мастера России: Перов, Крамской, Суриков, Репин и другие — видели в нем человека, страстно преданного интересам русской культуры. Они высоко ценили его намерение превратить частное собрание в национальный музей.

К 80-м годам собрание Третьякова значительно переросло рамки личной коллекции, и он сделал его доступным для обще­ственного обозрения. В 1892 году Павел Михайлович передал свое собрание, а также коллекцию, завещанную ему братом С. М. Третьяковым, в дар Москве.

Ныне в Третьяковской галерее широко, многообразно пред­ставлено и современное изобразительное искусство: живопись, графика, скульптура ведущих художников всех стран бывшего СНГ.
