Утверждение, что Конвенция не требу

Утверждение, что Конвенция не требует от подписавшего ее государства никаких финансовых затрат, не совсем отвечает действительности. Дело в том, что статьи 14, 16, 20, 23, 24 и 29 документа прямо говорят об обязательстве государства обеспечивать права беженцев в таком же объеме, как и собственных граждан. Это, в частности, означает: программы правительственной помощи, требования трудового законодательства (в том числе, льготы, пенсионное обеспечение и пр.) и социальное обеспечение, предусмотренные для граждан страны-участника, должны автоматически распространяться и на беженцев. В свое время украинское Минтруда, расписав по пунктам все виды и суммы подобных выплат, пришло к заключению, что «присоединение к Конвенции о статусе беженцев влечет за собой экономические и финансовые обязательства»
