Разрабатываемые технические решения преследовали одну цель — доставить груз на место и не причинить вреда объекту транспортировки.

Самым большим из них (по габаритам) был водородный бак, который предстояло оснастить съемными транспортировочными шпангоутами с узлами крепления к самолету, передним обтекателем и задним стекателем, придающим объекту приемлемую аэродинамическую форму. Ракетные баки — груз весьма деликатный. Это тонкостенные нежесткие оболочки, рассчитанные на продольные, а не поперечные нагрузки, требующие сохранения абсолютной чистоты во внутренних полостях.
