С 1996 г. в России начали создавать

С 1996 г. в России начали создаваться теперь уже «особые» экономические зоны (ОЭЗ): первая появилась в Калининградской области, в 1999г. вторую создали в Магаданской области сроком до 31 декабря 2014г. (успехов не зафиксировано). В том же году был разработан законопроект «Об особой экономической зоне в районе Байкало-Амурской железнодорожной магистрали», судьба его неизвестна.
