Эта история случилась в 1991 году в Украине. Оксана Малая была оставлена своими плохими родителями в конуре, где и росла с 3 до 8 лет в окружении других собак. Девочка стала дикой, ее все это время держали на заднем дворе дома. Она переняла общие черты поведения собак - лай, рычание, передвижение на четвереньках. Оксана нюхала свою еду, прежде чем ее съесть. Когда власти пришли к ней на помощь, то другие собаки лаяли и рычали на людей, пытаясь защитить свою соплеменницу. Аналогично вела себя и девочка. Из-за того, что она была лишена общения с людьми, в словаре Оксаны было всего два слова "да" и "нет". Дикий ребенок прошел курс интенсивной терапии, чтобы помочь ему приобрести необходимые социальные и вербальные навыки. Оксана смогла научиться говорить, хотя психологи говорят, что у нее есть большие проблемы в попытках выражать себя и общаться эмоционально, а не речью. Сегодня девушке уже двадцать лет, она проживает в одной из клиник Одессы. Большую часть времени Оксана проводит с коровами на ферме своего интерната. Но по ее же собственным словам лучше всего она себя чувствует, когда находится рядом с собаками.
