В 1993 году Профсоюз работников морского транспорта Украины вступил в Международную федерацию транспортников (ITF), став первым национальным морским профсоюзом в Украине, входящим в ITF. На тот момент ITF уже объединяла 596 транспортных профсоюзов из 135 стран мира, представляя интересы 5 миллионов работников транспортного сектора. Членство в такой солидной международной организации навсегда укрепило авторитет Профсоюза работников морского транспорта Украины на международном уровне.
