Как известно, право провести чемпионат мира по хоккею Беларусь получила в мае 2009 года. Но еще в начале 2008 года ассоциация «Федерация хоккея Республики Беларусь» объявила конкурс на лучший логотип для заявки «Минск–2014». Пришло более 200 конкурсных работ, а в итоге выбор пал на лаконичный знак, автором которого является дизайнер Виктория Адамович. Сегодня логотип чемпионата уже популярен и узнаваем.
