Содружество Независимых Государств

Соглашение о создании СНГ было подписано Россией, Беларусью и Украиной 8 декабря 1991 года. Сейчас Содружество объединяет Россию, Азербайджан, Армению, Беларусь, Казахстан, Кыргызстан, Молдову, Таджикистан, Туркменистан, Узбекистан и Украину. Выход из СНГ предусмотрен статьей 10 Соглашения о создании организации и занимает один год с момента уведомления остальных стран - участниц Содружества. В 2009 году СНГ покинула Грузия, недовольная позицией организации в ходе российско-грузинской войны 2008 года.
В 1994 г. Секретариат ООН зарегистрировал Устав СНГ как многостороннее международное соглашение. СНГ имеет также статус наблюдателя в ГА ООН, ЮНКТАД.
С 1 января 2009 г. по инициативе Республики Беларусь в СНГ осуществляется так называемое «сквозное председательство».
В соответствии с Решением Совета глав государств СНГ от
5 декабря 2012 года председательство в 2013 году осуществлялось Республикой Беларусь под девизом «Интеграция во благо человека».
Решением Совета глав государств СНГ от
25 октября 2013 года было определено, что председательство в Содружестве в 2014 г. будет реализовываться Украиной, а сопредседательство – Беларусью и Казахстаном.
19 марта 2014 г. МИД Украины официально заявил о своем решении прекратить председательство в СНГ. По согласованию с белорусской стороной председательство вновь перешло к Республике Беларусь.
В течение 2013-2014 гг. Белорусской стороной совместно с партнерами проведено более 100 значимых мероприятий экономического, экологического, гуманитарного и межрегионального характера. Среди них Форум творческой и научной интеллигенции государств – участников СНГ, Международный молодежный форум государств СНГ «Дружба без границ», ознакомительный тур для представителей государств СНГ по еврорегионам «Неман» и «Озерный край», Международный экономический Форум «СНГ и новые форматы взаимодействия». Проделана большая работа по подготовке к празднованию 70-й годовщины Великой Победы.
По инициативе белорусского председательства начаты разработка проекта Договора о Зоне свободной торговли услугами, проекта Плана совместных действий государств СНГ, направленных на решение актуальных вопросов в финансово-экономической сфере, создание общего аграрного рынка. Новый импульс придан инновационному сотрудничеству, сотрудничеству в сфере безопасности.
