В 1992 году Danone стала одной из первых западных компаний, пришедших на российский рынок. На центральной московской улице был открыт единственный в мире фирменный магазин Danone. А через три года начал свою работу первый завод Danone в России.

В 1998 году, когда многие компании закрывали бизнес, Danone принял решение не только не сокращать свою деятельность в России, но даже инвестировать в строительство самого современного и мощного завода Danone в мире.

В 2000 году на новом заводе в Чеховском районе, в Подмосковье, была выпущена первая партия йогуртов.

В конце 2010 года Danone объединил свой молочный бизнес с компанией Юнимилк. Юнимилк ведет свою историю с 2002 года. Всего за несколько лет своего существования компания объединила около 30 молокоперерабатывающих заводов и комбинатов детского питания.
