Варя́ги (др.-сканд. Væringjar, греч. Βάραγγοι) — группа в составе населения Древней Руси, носящая этнический, профессиональный либо социальный характер, который вызывает многочисленные дискуссии. На Руси варягами называли выходцев из Скандинавии — викингов и их обрусевших потомков, а так же выходцев с южного побережья Балтийского моря — полабских славян и балтов, бывших наёмными воинами либо торговцами в Древнерусском государстве (IX—XII вв.) и Византии (XI—XIII вв.).
