Today, besides the growth of technology, the medical care also develop, which leads to the longer life of people and enhance the life expectancy. In my opinion, the benefits of this improvement outbalance the disadvantages.

Admittedly, some people said that when old people live longer, they will cause the burden for the government. For instance, they could not create any value but they cost a large amount of budget for welfare and health care system. Ironically, hardly could they contribute to the society if we perceive them like weak and outdated people. We should know that old people are always enormous sources of knowledge and experience. Therefore, if the government takes that advantage, it will generate the great value. For example, in some area, the local authorities invite some retired people for consulting policies and development plans.

On the other hand, it is claimed that the increase of elderly could lead to some drawbacks for their family. To specify, their family members will have to spend more time on taking care of them. However, the paradox here is that only until elderly get too old, could not they help their family. The true fact is in many Vietnamese families, old people are always playing the role as a baby sister or a housekeeper. For example, my grandmother always played with my younger brother and looked after him when my parents were too busy for working.

In conclusion, if the government and the family give elderly the opportunities to dedicate, they will be the advantageous part of each country.
