Al-Farabi (Abu Nasr Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Tarhan ibn
Uzlag al-Farabi), known in medieval Muslim East as the
"Second Teacher" (ie, the second after Aristotle). Born in 870 in Farab,
situated on the Syr Darya River where it meets the river. Aris in the Turkic family.
