Влияние окружающей среды на здоровье человека довольно существенно. Многие болезни возникают от загрязнения атмосферы, плохой питьевой воды, потребления химически обработанных продуктов питания. Здоровье на 50 % зависит от образа жизни, на 20 % от воздействия окружающей среды и развития технологий, на 20 % сказывается плохая наследственность и только на 10 % оно зависит от уровня здравоохранения.

В наше время громадное количество загрязняющих веществ попадает в окружающую среду из промышленных источников, будь-то трубы заводов, сливаемые в реки отходы производства или огромные мусорные свалки.
