Жученко, к числу главных приоритетов и критериев селекции, сортоиспытания и семеноводства в нынешнем столетии следует отнести сочетание высокой потенциальной продуктивности и качества урожая с устойчивостью к действию абиотических и биотических стрессов на уровне сорта, агроценоза, агроэкосистемы и агроландшафта. В Краснодарском крае каждые пять лет сортовой состав по озимой пшенице обновляется на 85–90%. В Государственный реестр селекционных достижений включено и предложено к районированию более 50 сортов озимой мягкой пшеницы. Высокий потенциал продуктивности сорта проявляется в зависимости от конкретных условий года и места выращивания. Реакция индивидуальных генотипов на условия окружающей среды различна.
