Mahmud Ibn al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Kashgari (1029-1101) is a Turkic scholar of Kashgar. He was born during the reign of the Karakhanid dynasty and came from the highest circles karahanidskoj nobility. His father ran the town of Balasagun.
