Мне нравится роман американской писательницы Сьюзен Коллинз "Голодные игры". Роман включает в себя три книги "Голодные игры", "И вспыхнет пламя" и "Сойка-пересмешница". Действие разворачивается в стране Панем, находящейся в Северной Америке. Страна состоит из Капитолия и двенадцати дистриктов объединенных под контроль Капитолия. Роман начинается с Жатвы а это значит, что Капитолий устраивает ежегодный развлекательный турнир — Голодные игры. Правила игр просты: из каждого дистрикта выбираются двое подростков, которые становятся трибутами — игроками реалити-шоу на выживание. Мероприятие проводится на арене, где за трибутами следят видеокамеры, а события транслируются по всей стране. Главная героиня, 16-летняя Китнисс Эвердин, становится добровольной участницей игр. Китнисс и Пит Мелларк добиваются того, что организаторы игр вынуждены изменить условия для победы. Китнисс даже пригрозила двойным самоубийством, и Капитолий вынужден смириться с такой выходкой, нарушающей сложившиеся за 75 лет правила игр. Жители дистриктов получают надежду.
