What is Healthy Eating? What is the definition of healthy eating for children or teenagers? As children and adults have different food preferences does this mean the need for food for them is also different? Eating healthy is an important part of a healthy lifestyle for all people. However, teenagers might need different nutrition so it may be unlike adults. Although, the most common things that every age needs are these five categories as: grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and protein. Many factors affect teenagers' eating habits. As mentioned in the World Health Organization (2016) those factors are age differences, cross-national, gender differences, and family affluence. Many adolescents like to eat junk food and fast food. Anyhow, junk food is known as an unhealthy food because it is high in fat, sugar, etc. The big problem is junk food does not contain enough nutrition that our body needs. Meanwhile, realizing the long term effect of junk food can cause a reduction in junk food consumption. Junk food can seriously have a negative effect on our bodies. "A healthy diet can have a significant effect on many of adolescents' main concerns by contributing to maintaining a healthy weight, improving physical and intellectual performance, optimizing growth and improving skin health" (WHO, 2016). The previous statement demonstrates how eating healthy can be beneficial for all of us. ...
