В прокат вышел новый интригующий фильм Тима Бертона "Дом странных детей мисс Перегрин" — сюрреалистическая экранизация одноименного бестселлера Рэнсома Риггса с Евой Грин. Местами страшную сказку о путешествии во времени, монстрах и первой любви посмотрела ЕЛЕНА КРАВЦУН.

Еще десять лет назад выход нового фильма Тима Бертона был громким событием. В разные годы картины "Эдвард Руки-ножницы", "Сонная лощина", "Эд Вуд", "Чарли и шоколадная фабрика" публика ждала с нетерпеливым волнением, а после премьеры эти фильмы еще долго горячо обсуждались на фанатских форумах. Однако после роскошной макабрической экранизации мюзикла "Суини Тодд, демон-парикмахер с Флит-стрит" эра Бертона будто бы начала катиться к закату.

Декаданс проявился в нелепых "Мрачных тенях", в конфетной тяжести "Алисы в Стране чудес" и пошлой розой расцвел в биографической драме "Большие глаза". Однако новый фильм меняет этот печальный расклад и дает основания говорить о возвращении Бертона, пусть и не таком триумфальном, какое пророчил трейлер.

Удивительно загадочный темный мир, который населяют эксцентричные персонажи, томительная меланхолия, визуальная красота и абсурдный юмор — основные черты эстетики Бертона здесь на месте. При этом "Дом странных детей мисс Перегрин" получился одним из самых личных фильмов в карьере режиссера.

Юноша Джейкоб (Эйса Баттерфилд), как и многие другие герои Бертона, аутсайдер, его сверстники насмехаются над ним. С помощью таких персонажей Бертон всегда рассказывает и о себе: в школьные годы будущего режиссера считали по меньшей мере странным из-за увлечения фантазийными мирами и монстрами из фильмов ужасов. Под стать коллекции Риггса у Бертона в картине целая пропасть неожиданных странностей — в роли страшного злодея, пожирающего глазные яблоки, выступает матерый Сэмюэл Л.
