Из Рио-Жанейро телеграфируют в газету "Secolo XIX", что там недавно толпа в несколько тысяч человек, недовольная увеличением платы за проезд, напала на трамваи, не позволяя им трогаться с места, разрушила и подожгла массу вагонов.

Полицейские в свою очередь, разгоняя толпу, обнажили сабли, и даже стреляли в нее из револьверов, а пожарные усердно поливали ее из пожарных рукавов.

На поле битвы осталось трое убитых и пятнадцать человек более или менее тяжелораненых.
