Особенности системы права Великобритании в том, что все должности в суде назначаются Ее Величеством или органами местного самоуправления, а также дела расследуются полицейскими, которые сами могут вынести приговор без рассмотрения дела в суде. Все суды подразделяются на два основных вида – общие и специальные. К специальным относятся военные, церковные, земельные, транспортные и другие, а вот общие разделяются еще на несколько структур. Сюда входит Суд палаты лордов,которая является наивысшей инстанция. Палата рассматривает апелляции по решению судов касательно гражданских дел и приговоры уголовных, пришедшие из Верховного суда. Верховный суд - вторая инстанция. Он подразделяется на Аппеляционый суд, Суд короны и Высокий суд. Суд короны рассматривает уголовные дела. Высокий суд рассматривает гражданские дела. Аппеляционый суд рассматривает жалобы на решения Суда короны, Высокого суда и низших инстанции.
