При проведении ремонтных работ на электролизерах сварочные трансформаторы и другой электрифицированный инструмент подключают через эти же разделительные трансформаторы. В системах АСУТП смонтированы устройства, позволяющие фиксировать ухудшение изоляции между обмоткой двигателя и сетью постоянного тока [9]. На всех КПП или системах АСУТП смонтированы вольтметры, подключенные одним полюсом к крайним ваннам серии, а вторым — к земле, что дает возможность контролировать фактическое распределение потенциалов вдоль серии и при его изменении принимать меры к устранению вновь возникшего замыкания ванны на землю. В работах описаны устройства, позволяющие отыскивать места изменения состояния изоляции.
