В центре Казани, по соседству с университетским городком, находится живописное место – парк «Черное озеро». Сад парка "Черное озеро" уникальный - он вытянут с востока на запад, расположен в низине, защищенной от ветра.
Здесь всегда много студентов близлежащих вузов, госслужащих, работающих в учреждениях неподалеку, родителей с детьми. «Черное озеро» – излюбленное место отдыха горожан. Зимой это озеро преобразуется в каток на радость горожанам. Здесь всегда звучит музыка, вечером все вокруг красиво освещено огнями.

Главное достопримечательностью парка является так называемая Арка влюбленных, которая расположена со стороны улицы Лобачевского. Арка имеет эллиптическую форму и обладает акустическим эффектом: если два человека находятся по разные стороны арки и говорят даже шепотом, то они прекрасно слышат друг друга. До 2006 года территорию парка украшали несколько десятков очень красивых ухоженных деревьев при входе со стороны улицы Лобачевского. В центре парка находился детский городок с горками, качелями, каруселями, песочницами, фонтаном. Это воспоминания детства многих молодых людей.

Почему оно носит такое название? – задаются вопросом приезжие. Но не все казанцы могут не него ответить. Когда-то здесь плавали очень редкие птицы – черные лебеди. Отсюда и произошло название «Черное озеро».
