Я думаю для этого нужны следующие вещи - харизматичный персонаж, необычная задача, которую приходится решать персонажу и интересное развитие сюжета. К этому надо добавить, что всегда надо искать своего читателя. Желательно, чтобы сюжет был необычным, но не выглядел придуманным. Можно где-то приукрасить, но читатель должен верить, что так и происходило в жизни - мы ведь пишем не сказку и не фантастику. Чем, допустим, мне так нравятся рассказы О.Генри или Джека Лондона? Тем, что живые люди решают там непростые жизненные задачи, но эти обстоятельства не выглядят придуманными, а персонажи не обладают какими-то необычными способностями - просто они добиваются своего иногда упорством, иногда находя остроумное решение.
