Изучение эмбриотоксичности и тератогенного эффекта. Опыты были проведены на 28 беременных белых беспородных крысах с исходной массой 200-220. Препарат мексидол вводили ежедневно внутрижелудочно в течение всей беременности в дозе 250 мг/кг в пересчете на активное вещество. Опыты проводились в сравнении с контрольной группой. Мексидол при антенатальном воздействии не повышал показателей спонтанной эмбриональной гибели и не влиял на массу и размер плодов. При макроскопическом осмотре и на серийных срезах через эмбрионы грубых аномалий развития не обнаружено. Наблюдавшиеся отклонения (эктопия почек, гидронефроз, кровоизлияние подкожной клетчатки) имели место у некоторых плодов как в опытной, так и в контрольной группе животных. Дефектов скелета не обнаружено. В результате исследований было установлено, что мексидол во время беременности не оказывает влияния на динамику массы, состояние и поведение беременных самок, следовательно, не обладает эмбриотоксическим и тератогенным действием.
