Цель работы. Статья посвящена исследованию аккордовых тенденций в поп- и рок-музыке 1980-х годов. Проводится обзор аккордики в творчестве различных групп и исполнителей. Предпринимается попытка провести общую стилевую черту, которая бы обозначила объединяющую тенденцию временного периода, доминирующую над стилевыми различиями. Методология исследования заключается в использовании композиционного, ладово-гармонического, звуко-тембрового ы фактурного анализах, которые помогают исследовать соответствующие качества музыкальных композиций. Также используется сравнительный анализ, который помогает определить сходства и различия музыкальных качеств у различных исполнителей и увидеть эволюцию звуковых приёмов в определённый временной период. Научная новизна работы заключается в исследовании сфер поп- и рок-музыки, которые ранее не были изучены профессиональным музыковедением. Проводится подробный анализ гармонических приёмов музыки 1980-х годов, который даёт возможность описать негласные «музыкальные символы» данного периода. Выводы. Особенности гармоний и аккордики ярко демонстрируют уникальность звучания поп- и рок-музыки 80-х, её отличие от иных периодов существования массовой музыки. Данный пример исследования может быть применён к каким-либо иным стилям поп- и рок-музыки
