Welcome to Roombook Extension for Autodesk Revit
Roombook is based on Autodesk Revit 2015 functionality and extends it. The use of Autodesk Revit is considerably simplified and accelerated, without having to learn a new product philosophy. Roombook is part of the Trilogy of Books for the quantification process of Revit projects. The extensions Areabook - Buildingbook - Roombook complement each other, and together are covering the requirements for detailed quantity and area calculations of Revit projects. Areabook Areas Calculates the exact living area as well as net, gross and construction floor area of a project. Buildingbook Building Part Quantities Calculates the exact quantities of a constructive building parts of a project for material calculations. Roombook Room Quantities Calculates the exact inner room surfaces for material calculations of room finishes as well as furniture. Roombook Extension The program calculates the surfaces and materials of walls, floors and ceilings as well as room circumference and furnishing elements on a per-room basis. Roombook includes different country-specific calculation standards: The International standard calculates the real quantities. The German VOB standard includes an opening measurement system for calculating or ignoring openings in walls, floors and ceilings depending on their size. The Roombook Extensions uses algorithms for detecting room surfaces which go far beyond what the base to Autodesk Revit application is able to calculate. It is also possible to define a wall height reduction on a per-room basis, in order to calculate the material requirements in case of reflected ceilings. Surface material types contain material definitions for walls, slabs, ceilings and room circumference, which are typically assigned to particular rooms (Example: Bathroom, Habitable Room Carpet etc.) This allows to assign surface materials to rooms with one click. Material requirements are listed per room, per roomgroup and in total (roomgroups only, if the Areabook Extension is used). The calculated quantities can be exported in a clear and detailed Excel form, separated in Wall surfaces (including inner reveals, and window area per room in the Excel survey) Floor surfaces (including threshold areas) Ceiling surfaces Room circumference Furniture elements (optionally including picture in Excel export) as well as a survey which brings face to face all quantities per room . Additionally is supported the export to a dwf-file which later can be opened and edited further in Autodesk Quantity Takeoff (QTO). As an alternative, the Roombook data can be exported as csv-file. It is also possible to write the Roombook into a Revit calculations Schedule. VOB Standard (Germany) same functionality as international standard, plus: Opening measurement system: Calculation rules for ignoring openings in walls and floor / ceiling surfaces can be defined according to VOB.
