Вологда является одним из крупнейших городов северо-запада России. Дата основания неизвестна, первое упоминание в летописи приходится на 1147 год.Город расположен на обоих берегах реки Вологды. Вологда расположена в зоне умеренно ‐континентального климата. Зима в городе долгая и умеренно холодная, длится пять с половиной месяцев. Весна и осень прохладные, лето тёплое, наиболее холодный месяц— январь, наиболее тёплый месяц — июль. Осадков выпадает больше летом и осенью, в виде дождя.
