Трафальгарская площадь — исторически значимое место в Лондоне. Посреди площади стоит колонна, увенчанная фигурой адмирала Нельсона, у подножия колонны — барельефы, выплавленные из пушек, захваченных у побежденного Наполеона. На углах площади стоят четыре постамента, три из них заняты статуями выдающихся британцев, а четвертый продолжает пустовать: британцы никак не могут решить, кто достоин занять это место. Систематически на него устанавливают значимые произведения современного искусства, но лишь временно. Здесь проводятся митинги и демонстрации, а также народные гулянья.
